Dassault Systèmes and Bouygues Construction plan to reinvent the construction industry

3ds Visuel 3DExperience- As part of the business transformation, Bouygues Construction is developing residential projects as general contractor using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in the cloud

- The second phase of the long-term partnership between the two European companies focuses on promoting health and safety, the sustainable development of projects and the establishment of efficient processes at Bouygues Construction
- The partnership supports Dassault Systèmes with the standardised use of virtual twins in the construction industry based on the "Integrated Built Environment" and "Creative Building Design" industrial solutions

Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) and Bouygues Construction announced the next phase of their long-term goal to reinvent the construction industry and make it more efficient and sustainable. To drive its business transformation and improve the productivity of its construction projects, Bouygues Construction chose the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in the cloud. This step follows on from the previous digitisation and automation of processes at Bouygues Construction.

People today expect new forms of urbanisation and a greater focus on sustainability. But the productivity of the construction industry has not yet kept pace with these needs. This applies to the complexity of construction projects as well as to the strong fragmentation of specialist areas. The digital transformation opens up new opportunities for a sustainable recycling economy. It improves the use and exchange of knowledge across value chains and enables new business models.

With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in the cloud, Bouygues Construction can now take a systemic approach to project management and integrate virtual twins across the entire value chain. The previous approach, in which different departments worked separately on a document, is being replaced by a model-based method.

This integrated, integrative and collaborative environment with a central, well-founded database optimises the decision-making of all those involved: from management to the workers on site - in every phase of a project. At the same time, Bouygues Construction increases the safety of its employees and stakeholders. The company can also use raw materials more sustainably and improve quality from design to construction. To this end, modular assembly components are defined that are integrated into product lines, for example for retirement homes and student residences. Thanks to modularity, the complexity of upcoming projects can be better managed while meeting the growing demands for individualisation, sustainability and market variability.

Philippe Bonnave, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bouygues Construction: "Bouygues Construction has been using digital technologies for years. We will be able to create even more benefits by making greater use of these possibilities. We are striving for a higher-level transformation that will affect our processes in all projects and prepare our company for the future. This transformation will strengthen cooperation within the Group and with our stakeholders. Our customers will also benefit from this added value".

Bernard Charlès, Vice Chairman and CEO of Dassault Systèmes: "Mobile cloud technologies make solutions that work with virtual twins in construction affordable today. Unlike traditional methods, virtual twin solutions allow all parties to understand and participate in the process. All industry players are looking for transformative ways of collaboration and innovation. This is exactly what has now become reality. This groundbreaking new approach on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform reinforces our long-term partnership with Bouygues Construction. At the same time, it offers a great opportunity to combine our respective leadership and expertise and bring a new dynamic to the construction industry, leading to greater sustainability".
