Following last year’s ISO/IEC 27001 certification, Eidosmedia has now extended its security accreditation to cover its cloud operations with the ISO/IEC 27017 standard.
Swing keeps the news flowing
“The hard work we put into getting our main operation certified to ISO/IEC 27001 standard last year is already paying off by simplifying our customers’ own security requirements,” said Julien Febvre, Eidosmedia ISMS manager. “Now we’re expecting similar benefits from the ISO/IEC 27017 certification which covers our Cloud operations.”
Since Eidosmedia customers’ platforms are increasingly cloud-hosted, the additional certification for these deployments is an important guarantee of the continuity and security of their operations.
“The certification requires us to organize our cloud customer and supplier relationships in a standardized way,” said Julien “This helps our own customers in their due diligence with us as a vendor.”
The adoption of best practices and standard procedures for cloud deployment is particularly important for customers in the financial sector, following the guidelines and regulations governing supply-chain management from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Banking Authority (EBA).
“Maintaining these security standards requires a continuous commitment across the whole company,” said Julien. “Regular internal audits and a program of online training and testing ensures that all staff are aware of the risks to operational security and the best practices for their mitigation.”
“The growing incidence of cyber-attacks by both private and state-sponsored agents are a reminder that a culture of security awareness is a fundamental requirement for modern business operations.”
