Collaboration with Microsoft Will Facilitate Enterprises' Shift to Hybrid Cloud Environments
Apprenda, the leader in enterprise Platform as-a-Service (PaaS), today announced that it will offer an end-to-end hybrid cloud solution for .NET and Java applications through collaboration with Microsoft. Customers will have access to the best of both worlds: the on-premise comfort of Apprenda's PaaS offering with the elasticity and cost-effectiveness of the Microsoft Azure public cloud. Customers who license Apprenda will now have a turnkey hybrid implementation that includes Azure infrastructure out-of-the-box at no additional cost, ensuring that enterprises can seamlessly leverage public cloud as a feature of their datacenter from day one.
As industry and customer demands continue to pave the way for widespread cloud adoption, Apprenda aims to eliminate the need to choose between the public and private cloud, and empower enterprises to run on both. Forrester analyst Lauren Nelson states, "In 2014, private cloud vendors will give their customers the ability to move into the next stages [of cloud computing] where workloads are portable between [public and private] environments, applications can be split across environments, and/or one can use public cloud to accommodate excess load during peak usage (cloud-bursting)."[1]
Apprenda and Microsoft customers will get an Apprenda license with Azure. The joint solution will also support a smooth transition for enterprises adopting a hybrid cloud environment, achieving a practical hybrid outcome for streamlined application management, increased agility and higher computing efficiency, and demonstrating Apprenda's commitment to providing enterprises the flexibility to run and manage their cloud environments in effective and cost-efficient ways.
