The leader in automotive carbon-hybrid wheel technology, Dymag’s advanced products were once again on prominent display at SEMA, with this year’s event showcasing breakthrough and pioneering designs

Featuring a carbon rim with forged centrepiece design, Dymag’s wheels made appearances on supercars on display for Radford, MV Forged, CFS and Aeromotive
The high-tech wheels featured on a variety of incredible creations that wowed onlookers, including a McLaren Senna, Ferrari SF90 and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro
Dymag’s innovative wheels are lighter, stronger and stiffer compared to a traditional cast alloy wheel, realizing huge advantages in the high-performance arena
Enhanced dynamic handling, reduced unsprung mass and optimised refinement are just some of the advantages to Dymag’s wheels, which also include greater strength, durability and reliability
Dymag, a proven world leader in lightweight performance wheels for the automotive industry, has had its advanced high-tech designs showcased across SEMA 2023, featuring prominently on supercars from an array of high-performance vehicle aftermarket developers, specialists and suppliers.

Globally renowned for over four decades as the pioneer in advanced wheel design, Dymag’s trailblazing innovations were easy to spot at SEMA 2023, featuring on supercars on display from the likes of Radford, MV Forged, CFS and Aeromotive. These remarkable applications took the form of the Radford Type 62-2 Pikes Peak race car, McLaren Senna, Ferrari SF90, a remastered 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and a BMW M3 Touring.

With its unique take on celebrating car culture, SEMA is a gathering that pays homage to every facet relating to high-performance in the automotive and motorsports spheres, making it a perfect event for Dymag and its industry-leading wheels that are lighter, stronger and stiffer. The company’s rich history and heritage in continually pushing technological and engineering boundaries in this domain is unrivalled. As part of that linage, in 2004 Dymag realized a world-first in designing, developing and commercialising the carbon-hybrid automotive wheel.

Featuring a lightweight carbon barrel paired with an aluminium or magnesium centre piece, Dymag’s unique hybrid design enables its innovative wheel to offer substantial benefits over both a traditional cast alloy wheels and solid carbon wheels.

Taking centre stage on the main outdoor atrium at SEMA 2023 was the Radford Type 62-2 Pikes Peak race car fitted with Dymag’s carbon-magnesium wheels.

On display at the busy MV Forged booth was a rare McLaren Senna featuring Dymag wheels with forged aluminium centres. The Senna was positioned alongside a crowd-pleasing Ferrari SF90 with Dymag wheels forged from aluminium and titanium.

Remastered by Gunther Werks, a beautifully bespoke Porsche 911 (993) sat proudly on carbon-magnesium wheels from Dymag while over at CFS, an arresting custom-designed BMW M3 Wagon featured Dymag carbon rims with forged aluminium centres designed by Vossen. Leading aftermarket brand, Aeromotive Group, unveiled an exquisite 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, fitted with Dymag rims with the centres designed by Brixton.

As well as being lighter, stronger and stiffer than a traditional forged aluminium wheel, Dymag’s carbon-hybrid wheel offers optimal refinement levels and enhanced dynamic handling. With a reduced gyroscopic force thanks in part to the lightness of the wheelset, a high-performance car with Dymag wheels requires far less steering effort and input. Dymag wheels also realize reduced unsprung mass and moment of inertia, with far less energy required to accelerate and brake.

As many visitors to SEMA 2023 pointed out, Dymag’s visually captivating carbon hybrid wheels bring aesthetic advantages too, with a forged aluminium or magnesium centrepiece offering greater design flexibility than a solid carbon fibre wheel.

All Dymag’s carbon hybrid wheels are manufactured at its state-of-the-art Wiltshire production facility in the UK, ensuring uncompromised high quality and consistency across the product range.

Dymag CEO, Tom de Lange, said: “To see so many incredible high-performance supercars take centre stage at this year’s SEMA show featuring Dymag’s industry-leading carbon hybrid wheels further underscores our unparalleled expertise, approach and leadership in this area. The many benefits of Dymag’s carbon hybrid advancements can be felt right across the varied automotive application spectrum, from internal combustion engine cars through to full electric models. And this is especially true of the high-performance automotive sector, where sophisticated machines focused on power, dynamics and control need every facet – every component and subsystem – to be perfectly aligned enabling the car to deliver its true potential, be that during a scintillatingly rapid drive on-track or an engaging and emotive experience on the road.”
