Cal Poly's Mustang News received 22 awards during the 31st annual Associated Collegiate Press (ACP) National College Journalism Convention held Feb. 26-March 1 in Los Angeles.
Mustang News earned 19 state awards from the California College Media Association (CCMA), seven of which were first-place plaques. This is the largest number of awards Cal Poly has earned from CCMA in a single judging cycle.
The editorial team received three first-place plaques in the categories of Best Feature Story, Best Arts and Entertainment Story, and Best Infographic. Additionally, the Mustang News advertising team won first for Best Black-and-White Advertisement, Best Group Promotion, Best Sales Promotional Material, and Best Online Promotion. Mustang News also garnered three national Best of Show awards from the ACP.
