OKI celebrates 35th anniversary in Germany

From local hardware supplier to provider of innovative output management concepts

OKI has reason to celebrate: The subsidiary of the global group in Düsseldorf has been successfully active in the German market for 35 years. Consistent reliability for business partners, combined with constant innovation in products and services, are the reasons for OKI's success not only in Germany. The strong, globally positioned Japanese parent company offers the best possible platform for this.
OKI's success story in Germany began in October 1984 with the opening of the office in Düsseldorf. By this time, the Japanese manufacturer had already successfully established itself in Europe. From the very beginning, OKI has relied exclusively on indirect sales via qualified specialist dealers. Innovative products, above all the pioneering in-house development of digital LED printing technology, have made OKI one of the industry leaders worldwide.
The formula for success: constant product innovation and dealer loyalty
"OKI has a long list of groundbreaking industry innovations developed over the past 35 years through the company's innovative strength," said Thomas Seeber, Vice President Central Region. Since its first LED printers in 1989, the company has continually ventured into new territory: the world's first A4 colour multifunction printer in 2005, the world's first digital LED white toner printer in 2012, and just a year later the introduction of the first five-colour A3 printer with digital LED technology as another milestone in the industry! All developments have always focused on the greatest possible benefit for the customer. Today, the aim in the office segment is to enable every company to cover its own needs quickly, flexibly and at low cost as a quasi in-house print shop by means of the right systems.
"We look back with pride and look to the future with confidence. Over the past 35 years, we have succeeded in transforming ourselves from a hardware supplier with a local focus into an internationally active provider of output management concepts," Seeber continues. "Our thanks go to the team and above all to our dealers". It is not for nothing that the worldwide partner program for specialist dealers bears the name "Shinrai". Shinrai is the Japanese term for trust, loyalty and success and describes the way OKI works with business contacts.
Uniquely well positioned for the future
In the future, OKI will serve the vertical markets even more strongly than before in addition to the successful office segment. "We already have specific industry solutions in our portfolio today and are expanding this further in order to enable the retail market to increase sales and profit at the POS," says Seeber. Waterproof labels suitable for outdoor use, information signs for garden centres, car wrapping packages for the automotive industry or a wide range of marketing materials for the POS in the retail sector are examples of this which are already part of the portfolio today. Innovative concepts such as "Print-For-Profit" for commercial end customers in the retail sector determine the future orientation. Responsibility for the environment and society is an integral part of the company's philosophy. "We are confident that OKI will continue to shine with innovative solutions over the next 35 years. Our promise then, now and in the future is: OKI - unique technology, unique relationships".
