Constantia Flexibles acquires FFP Packaging Solutions

Constantia Flexibles has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of FFP Packaging Solutions, a leading provider of sustainable flexible packaging for the consumer goods market based in Northampton, UK, on Wednesday 10 August 2022. The acquisition is an excellent addition to the portfolio of the world's third largest flexible packaging manufacturer. The acquisition gives Constantia Flexibles its first consumer business plant in the UK.

"The acquisition fits perfectly with our Vision 2025 growth strategy, where we invest in competitive companies with potential for future growth. The addition of FFP Packaging Solutions to the Constantia Flexibles Group will further strengthen our market position. The company's high reliability and long experience enable strong relationships in the UK food industry. We will work with the existing management team to further drive the sustainable flexible packaging revolution in the UK and beyond," says Pim Vervaat, CEO of Constantia Flexibles.
FFP Packaging Solutions is a leading innovator in flexible plastic packaging. Founded in 1967, the company has more than 50 years of experience driving the transformation of sustainable flexible packaging. The recyclable laminates expert, which offers flowwraps, lidding films and pre-made pouches, already generates more than 80% of its sales from sustainable packaging. "Sustainable packaging solutions are no longer a trend. They are a must-have. FFP Packaging Solutions' figures already show that. And together we are committed to a circular economy and driving change with more sustainable packaging," says Pim Vervaat about the new addition to the Constantia Flexibles family.
FFP Packaging Solutions is a long-standing, trusted partner to major food brands and UK retailers. The company employs over 100 people and is headquartered in Northampton, UK.
"We are looking forward to working with our new colleagues at FFP Packaging Solutions and entering the next phase of the company's development together as part of the Constantia Flexibles family," says Pim Vervaat about the great new addition to the team.
Robin Chudley, Chief Executive Officer of FFP Packaging Solutions, says: "I am very proud of FFP's position in the UK flexible packaging market and the name it has made for itself across the industry. The company was founded by my father in 1962, later taken over by me and has continued to grow since the appointment of the current management team.
After running FFP as a family business for many years, we recognised the importance of succession planning to ensure FFP's long-term future. For this reason, we appointed David Cooper as Managing Director & CEO in 2017. Since then, David and his team have done a phenomenal job of ensuring FFP's expertise, core competencies and values remain aligned to our customers' needs, keeping FFP at the forefront of flexible packaging development.
The sale of FFP to Constantia Flexibles is another important milestone for the company and I am delighted that David and his team will remain with the business to ensure a successful integration and continue to build on FFP's success in the future."
David Cooper, Managing Director & CEO of FFP Packaging Solutions, says: "On behalf of the management and the entire team at FFP, we would like to thank Robin and the entire Chudley family for their confidence and support as we developed FFP's strategy, driving the sustainable flexible packaging revolution in the UK.
We are delighted to join the Constantia Flexibles family and pool our resources and broader business capabilities to accelerate the development of sustainable flexible packaging while continuing to add significant value for our customers."
