Gannett names Randy Kilgore President of National Sales

Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) announced today Randy Kilgore has been named president of National Sales, effective June 23. Kilgore will be responsible for growing national advertising revenue across Gannett's multi-platform media network. He will oversee sales for USA TODAY, Gannett Digital and U.S. Community Publishing's national efforts.

He will report to Maryam Banikarim, Gannett's senior vice president and chief marketing officer, and will be based in New York City.

Most recently Kilgore was chief revenue officer for Tremor Video, an advertising technology company, where he developed sales strategy, product marketing, category development, mobile development and agency relations. He built the company's sales team from the ground up and grew sales from under $1 million in 2006 to $128 million for 2013.

"Randy is an innovator and proven sales leader," said Banikarim. "His unique experience leading digital transformations and delivering results for his advertising clients makes him the right leader to take our national sales team to the next level. I am excited to have him join the team."

Prior to serving as chief revenue officer for Tremor Video, Kilgore spent more than 16 years at Dow Jones & Co. His last role with Dow Jones was as senior vice president of advertising where he consistently surpassed revenue goals and industry averages, managed successful acquisitions and spearheaded many innovations including the introduction of behavioral targeting. Kilgore's career began on the agency side at BBDO.

Kilgore is a past member of the Online Publishers Association and Interactive Advertising Bureau boards, and was named Chairman of the IAB Board of Directors in 2013. He was named to Media Magazine's 100 Most Influential list in 2005. Kilgore is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University.
