Gracia C. Martore, the President and CEO of one of the United States' largest media and marketing solutions companies, Gannett, publisher of USA TODAY, has joined the programme for the World Newspaper Congress, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 2 to 5 June.
Ms. Martore joins a programme of leading news media executives at the annual summit meetings of the world's publishers, chief editors and other senior news media executives. The 65th World Newspaper Congress, 20th World Editors Forum and 23rd World Advertising Forum will run concurrently in Bangkok, with more than 1,200 participants expected.
Ms. Martore, who has been Gannet's chief executive since October 2011, has overseen the implementation of a new all-access content subscription model for the company's U.S. Community Publishing sites, the redesign of USA TODAY to celebrate its 30th anniversary, and launched a new digital strategy to fully leverage Gannett's relationships with consumers and advertisers in its 100-plus local markets. The company's network of local media organizations includes 81 daily publications and 23 television stations.
