Phaidon Press Ltd., the world's leading publisher and distributor of books and digital products in the creative arts, today announced that Keith Fox is joining the company as its Chief Executive Officer.
Fox assumes leadership of Phaidon as the company is expanding its footprint in the U.S. and strengthening its positions in Europe and Asia in the core categories of arts, photography, design, architecture, and cookery.
Fox joins Phaidon from McGraw Hill Financial, most recently as president of the Construction division, where he oversaw such award-winning brands as Architectural Record and Engineering News Record. He previously served as president of BusinessWeek and president of McGraw Hill Professional. Prior to McGraw Hill Financial, Fox held senior-level positions at Reader's Digest Association, Unilever, and Booz Allen Hamilton. He holds a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business.
Phaidon is owned by the family of Debra and Leon Black, Chairman of private equity firm Apollo Global Management. "We are delighted that Keith has joined Phaidon. He brings a unique combination of his personal appreciation of the arts coupled with a proven history of leading and advancing successful global brands."
"I am honored to be joining Phaidon and humbled by the trust the Black family has placed in me," said Fox. "I look forward to enhancing Phaidon's brand as the world's premier fine arts publisher and driving profitable growth through innovation and digital platforms."
Fox will be based in Phaidon's New York office. The company also has offices in London, Berlin, Madrid, Milan, Paris, and Tokyo, with worldwide distribution.
