Legendary Drupa visitor and industry co-creator: Augusto Monteiro visits POLAR in Hall 1

Drupa 2024 welcomes a special guest of honour: Augusto Monteiro, founder and owner of the Portuguese company Grafopel, is visiting the renowned trade fair in Düsseldorf. Monteiro, who has been attending the event without interruption since the second Drupa in 1954, will honour POLAR Cutting Technologies GmbH with his presence at Stand B41 in Hall 1.

Augusto Monteiro, 96 years old, is a living legend of the printing industry. Together with his wife Arminda, he is travelling to his 17th Drupa. His company, Grafopel, is largely responsible for the successful operation of machines from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and POLAR Cutting Technologies GmbH in Portugal, Angola, the Cape Verde Islands and parts of Africa. The family-owned company, now in its second generation of selling machines ‘made in’ Heidelberg and Hofheim, has established itself as an indispensable partner in the printing industry.
During his visit to POLAR, Augusto Monteiro spoke with Oliver Becker (Head of Sales) and Frank Mayer (Head of Marketing) about the company's latest innovations, such as the expan- sion stage of the AirGo Jog. He followed the presentations with great interest and exchanged views on developments and trends in the industry.
Augusto Monteiro is not only an active supporter of Drupa, but also an inspiring example of tireless commitment to the printing industry. His visits are characterised by exciting discus- sions and valuable exchanges, which are invaluable both for him and for the hosts.
POLAR Cutting Technologies GmbH would like to thank Augusto Monteiro for his visit and the inspiring discussions. We wish him a great time at Drupa, many more interesting encoun- ters and a safe journey home.
