Hull company Jadan Press has continued to flourish throughout recession, fulfilling orders around the UK and even into Europe, and it has rewarded itself with a Polar 78 Eco to supplement the Polar 92X it installed 18 months ago.
A Wohlenberg machine goes out to make way for the new arrival which is being installed this week, meaning the company has focused all its cutting on Polar technology.
"Our operators like the Polar," says managing director Pam Wainman. "We looked at the secondhand market but the cost and reliability of buying new swayed us. We have been busy and felt we deserved this new machine which will handle the cross cutting and smaller work, providing back up for the Polar 92X which has been a successful machine for us.
"Some pundits are saying we won't really see a recovery until 2015 but here business is very buoyant. We have been very busy."
The company added a Linoprint C 901 digital press to run alongside its litho line up (two Speedmaster SM 74s – a five- and two-colour) and this combination is enabling the company to meet an even wider spectrum of work for its customers. It likes the quality of both technologies supplied by Heidelberg.
