Fife firm looks forward to the Polar affect

Multiprint (Scotland) is to replace a Perfecta 76 with a Polar 78 N Plus next week.
Jay Todd, managing director of the Fife company says: "We decided to replace our old guillotine and we wanted the very best. It was a straightforward choice. Polar machines have the reputation for build and longevity and with Heidelberg supplying you know exactly what you are getting."

The company needs two cutting machines, for back up as well as volume. Moving from a 76cm to a 78cm width machine will give the company a little more cutting flexibility but Multiprint was especially pleased to be able to have extended air tables so that it can use its stacklift for loading and piles can be easily manipulated making the cutting process more efficient. The Optiknife makes knife changing quick and safe and Mr Todd believes that the graphic user interface will simplify operation and training.
"We are a family business and our operators are kept informed of our plans and the production manager was very involved with the decision-making on this guillotine," says Mr Todd. "The team are delighted we are investing in this area."
Mr Todd feels that there is more business confidence than there has been for the past five or six years and hopes to see an economic upturn.
Multiprint produces a wide range of print for customers in Fife and across Scotland so the guillotine will be kept busy cutting business cards, leaflets, booklets, brochures and all other types of commercial work.
The company, established in1972 by George Warner, has a reputation for service and taking a thorough approach ensures a quality result. It provides a design service and offers litho and digital printing services as well as wide format.
The Polar N series is the 11th generation of guillotine produced by the German manufacturer.
