MPS will announce winners in a red carpet ceremony on day two of the exhibition
To commemorate printing excellence of unique label applications, MPS invited customers to submit their finest labels printed on MPS presses for a chance to win an award. The first-edition MPS Label Awards ceremony announcing the winners will be held in glamourous Hollywood red carpet style on day two of Labelexpo Europe, on the MPS booth 11C20.
Winners are chosen out of 32 nominated labels from MPS customers all over the world. A selection of winners in different categories was made by an independent jury consisting of Dirk Goethals, Business Unit & Sales Manager of Athena Graphics, Gregory Bentley – Global Primary Packaging Director, Global Innovation & Technology Department of AB InBev, and Hans Poortinga, MPS Manager Technology & Expertise Centre (and experienced printing expert).
The over-all gold award winner will receive a free year of a Summum Service Level Agreement for one MPS press, valued at €7.500.
Labelexpo Europe visitors are invited to join the ceremony, taking place Wednesday September 26 at 16:30 on the MPS booth 11C20, and see a selection of nominees and the winning labels on the Wall of Fame.
Independent Jury member Gregory Bentley from AB InBev comments: “We have chosen some very impressive, both technically and consumer engaging labels, as the winners but I am impressed with the overall quality of all printed labels. The quality of the print really was never to be judged as it was a given for all of the samples, I found we were more judging the ingenuity and creativity of the label printers. I can only imagine that this has something to do with the quality and consistency of the equipment MPS is supplying and it highlights the new challenge for label converters, as presses become more intelligent and user friendly, will be to offer new services and points of difference to compete in the market place.”
“It was a privilege to receive so many stunning entries from our customers for an MPS Label Award,” said Inge Smolders-Brinkman, Manager Marketing Communications. “A printing press is a canvas, that through technology, creativity, and passionate people can produce great works of art. We’re so proud of what our customers are printing with MPS presses and look forward to sharing these stellar labels to a wide audience at Labelexpo Europe.”
MPS Systems is also presenting ‘Beyond the Machine’ at Labelexpo Europe with a spotlight on four key processes that extend beyond a top-quality printing press: Connectivity, Applications, Productivity and Service. Live demonstrations of the new hybrid EF SYMJET press in a wider 17”/430 mm width with an exclusive Domino digital N617i inkjet printer will be presented for the first time.
