Colter & Peterson, North America's largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment, and Function Control, a leading European company in optical sheet counting and ream marking for paper, board, corrugated and other industries, have reached an agreement where C&P will distribute a new line of Function Control's paper counting machines for the offset printing market in the United States.
The Function Control P7 sheet counter makes it possible to accurately count a complete stack of paper without ever touching it. Manufactured with the latest electronics and available in two speed versions, the uniquely designed machine is easy to install, fits in the smallest of spaces with a compact footprint, and has door panels that can be opened on multiple sides. A touchscreen panel can be fitted on three sides of the machine in different working heights. An LED indicator indicates when the stack is in the correct range, and after counting is completed by pushing a button, printing a label or uploading data to an external database can be performed.
"Our two companies originally made contact in 2008 and we resumed those talks again in late 2013. I visited Bruce Peterson and his team in New Jersey last month and soon after we reached an agreement," recalled Niels Kleinnibbelink, Managing Director of The Netherlands based Function Control, which began operations in 1987. "My impression is our new partner has experienced success for a long time in the U.S. C&P has a great installation base and a sales team we can rely on."
Colter & Peterson is a technology driven company, and company officials believe this makes for an ideal alliance with Function Control. For example, Microcut® back gauge systems offer the latest technology available to automate and update paper cutters. With over 30,000 worldwide installations, they cost a mere fraction of the price for a new paper cutter. C&P also sells its very popular Saber® and Prism® line of paper cutters, which are manufactured to ISO-9001 standards and feature the newest technology benefits.
"We are very pleased to enter into this agreement with Function Control and represent them in the U.S.," said Sean Solomon, Regional Sales Manager for Colter & Peterson. "They have an outstanding reputation for manufacturing products like the P7 that deliver what they promise, and their equipment lasts a long time. Our two companies have a lot of similarities and we look forward to doing business with them."
