Following this year's event motto "Connect", Horizon will present innovative finishing technologies for connected and automated digital print production together with various cooperation partners at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2025.
World premiere – print to finishing solution
During the 15th edition of Hunkeler Innovationdays, visitors can experience the first ever inline Horizon iCE StitchLiner Mark V with Canon’s varioPRINT iX3200 B3 sheetfed inkjet press. This inline solution allows to achieve one-pass booklet production at a very high production rate and level of quality. The system can be seen on the Canon booth, right next to the Horizon booth in Hall 2.
From roll to booklet – iCE StitchLiner Mark V
At the Horizon booth, the iCE StitchLiner Mark V saddle stitching solution will be connected inline with Hunkeler’s roll processing technology to create varying thickness and format booklets in one pass to enhance productivity and flexibility. The system will also include the HSF-50 High Speed Sheet Feeder. So it can be switched flexibly between roll feeding from the unwinder or cut sheet feeding from the HSF-50.
Robot integrated perfect binding system
The Horizon booth will also feature a unique setup with the iCE Binder BQ-300 and iCE Binder BQ-500 perfect binders, both connected inline to one trimmer, the iCE Trimmer HT-300. Robot arms will be used for feeding book blocks into the binders, enhancing automation and efficiency. In this way, the integration of various systems for a comprehensive printing and finishing solution will be showcased.
Direct mail solution
At the Hunkeler booth, a direct mail solution will be presented, featuring the Horizon iCE Folder AFV-566FKT inline with Hunkeler’s Plowfolding solution for streamlined transactional and direct mail production.
SmartSlitter and iCE LiNK
The Horizon booth will also feature the SmartSlitter and iCE LiNK systems, designed for automating logistics and job management. The SmartSlitter will produce a variety of applications printed by Canon, which are delivered to the SmartSlitter via AMR robot. iCE LiNK will focus on productivity and job tracking, connecting to systems in multiple booths for comprehensive management. In this way, workflows can be streamlined and real-time updates on machine status and product tracking are provided.
Standalone solutions
The following standalone machines will be presented on the booth of Horizon's Swiss sales partner Gietz: the folding machines iCE Folder AFV-566FKT and PF-P3300, the creaser and folder CRF-362 as well as the tabletop binder BQ-P65.
