Dassault Systèmes presents SOLIDWORKS 2021, the latest version of its portfolio of solutions for 3D design and engineering. SOLIDWORKS 2021 improves the functions and workflows for design, documentation, data management and validation, enabling users to get their work done faster. In addition, users of SOLIDWORKS 2021 can connect to 3DEXPERIENCE WORKS. This helps to better address challenges - from concept to manufacturing - and accelerate cloud-based collaborative innovation.
SOLIDWORKS 2021 features performance improvements and enhanced functionality. These include the top 10 enhancements proposed by the SOLIDWORKS community during 3DEXPERIENCE World 2020 in February. The enhancements include the design of parts and assemblies, faster installation of software components, drawings, graphics, and data management to accelerate file operations and workflows. In addition, SOLIDWORKS 2021 offers optimised simplification in component placement, more flexible part design and more robust simulation. For SOLIDWORKS users, the latest version also includes benefits in terms of user experience and assembly modelling.

A Special Edition of SOLIDWORKS in conjunction with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is now available in three different packages: 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Standard, Professional and Premium. These correspond to the desktop versions and enable SOLIDWORKS users to use their familiar and proven desktop applications, but also to use the cloud services of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform - the basis for location-independent and collaborative work. This "Connected" version of SOLIDWORKS comes with integrated data management. It prevents working with outdated files or losing data and automatically updates software and data in the cloud. All users thus use a uniform version and can thus easily access the advanced applications of the 3DEXPERIENCE WORKS portfolio. The 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS offerings include cloud-based industrial and mechanical design - optimised for mobile devices and designed for automated processes and collaborative work on the go.
