Former triennial event will return every other year
International event organizer UBM Canon, which acquired the 35-year Expoplast plastics trade event in 2009, brings it back to Montreal, Quebec, November 14-15, 2012, at the Palais des Congres. Over the years, Expoplast has been a significant resource for plastics industry professionals, showcasing top suppliers of processing machinery, auxiliary equipment, molds, molding components, materials, and service providers. This year in Montreal, it will also feature educational seminars and workshops on plastics industry topics, including the latest technologies and materials. Expoplast will be expanded and co-located with PACKEX, Design & Manufacturing Montreal, Automation Technology Expo (ATX), PTX/Powder & Bulk Solids, AeroCon, Sustainability in Manufacturing, and Contract Manufacturing Expo.
There are more than 700 companies engaged in plastics processing manufacturing in Quebec, producing about 25 percent of all plastic products made in Canada. Its plastics processors employ some 33,260 people and generate an annual payroll of over $1 billion. According to the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA), over the last ten years, the Quebec plastics industry has grown faster than any other manufacturing business.
