Graph Expo Seminar on Fending Off Patent Trolls – "OEMs, distributors and printers, this is for you!"

Led by Cal Poly Professor Emeritus Harvey R. Levenson, this seminar addresses graphic arts patents and the growing patent troll matter.

The purpose of this seminar is to assist with a major growing concern for the printing industry.

An increasing number of OEMs, distributors, and printing companies have been hit with demands for licensing fees or huge one-time payments from patent trolls trying to capitalize on existing software and technology representing proven successes for the printing industry.

Levenson said, "These companies have nothing to do with our industry but are threatening our positive contributions to the national and world economy and job market. Our business clients and employee jobs are at stake."

This seminar will cover how to deal with the issue should a company be approached by a troll and threatened with a lawsuit if payment demands are not met.

"I've been assisting the printing industry for over 25 years on patent issues, and," according to Levenson, "the reality is that many of the patents that trolls have purchased are invalid due to the existence of Prior Art that would nullify them."

The seminar is entitled: PATENT PROTECTION FOR GRAPHIC ART TECHNOLOGY USERS AND OEM'S: Patent Trolls BEWARE!
