Georgia Library System Expands Use of 3M Solutions

Athens-Clarke County Library commends 3M's responsiveness during construction

EFE-0231-FESPA-630x120 v2

Athens-Clarke County Library in Athens, Ga. is starting the process of expanding 3M RFID and AMH into the Royston branch, which is the third out of 12 branches in the Athens Regional Library Systems (ARLS) to install these 3M solutions. Selected from a bidding process, 3M was chosen in part for the ability to support ARLS as they expand these solutions during renovation to their new and existing libraries.

The main branch of the library system has already experienced significant benefits. Using 3M RFID and automated materials handling (AMH) systems have realized a time savings of over 40 hours per week spent checking-in and sorting books.

"We've been very pleased to work with 3M," said Kathryn Ames, director, Athens Regional Library System. "They have an outstanding team, very responsive to all our questions and concerns, especially during the construction process. We're thrilled to be moving ahead so quickly with our expansion plans." The ARLS aims to have all 12 branches fully integrated by January 2015.
