The value of a product is therefore conveyed by the packaging itself, because customers infer the contents from the luxury packaging. Its feel and look convey a feeling of value. Paper with up to 30 percent grass content for a natural look
The special feature of IQ GRASS + PACKAGING is the blend of up to 30 percent grass fibre and 70 percent FSC™ or PEFC certified virgin fibre pulp. There are approximately 14,000 different species of grasses on our planet - one fifth of all vegetation. Grass is one of the fastest growing and most ecologically successful plants in the world. The combination of grass fibres and virgin fibre pulp from sustainably managed forests gives IQ GRASS + PACKAGING its unique feel and natural look. It is particularly suitable for promotional cards, boutique carrier bags and liners for corrugated and solid board. IQ GRASS + PACKAGING impresses in processing with its high strength and very good runnability during the printing process and converting.
A special feature of the paper is the individual grain and fibre look, which give each individual bag and packaging a slightly different appearance and a valuable feel. The colour tone - which is natural - can also vary slightly due to the natural ingredients. This has to be taken into account when designing the print.
In addition to flexo printing, offset printing is also possible
IQ GRASS + PACKAGING is not only printable in flexo, but also in offset in all grammages in high quality. The fine grain of the grass remains visible. For a stronger colour representation, the paper can also be dyed white in a first underprint pass and then provided with images, logos and text. This increases the colour brilliance - but the fibre of the grass remains visible.
Offset printing makes IQ GRASS + PACKAGING suitable for a wide range of applications. For example, the 80 g/m² paper can be used for classic wrapping paper or liners for envelope boxes. The finishes typical of high grammages, such as hot foiling and high embossing, ensure a high-quality look with attractive effects for packaging for luxury products. Even in the highest grammage of 350 g/m², IQ GRASS + PACKAGING can be folded precisely and processed to a high quality.
Wide range of applications in various industries
IQ GRASS + PACKAGING can be used as packaging for all dry and non-greasy products. This makes it suitable for cosmetic products, spirits and high-quality clothing as well as for many foodstuffs. In the higher grammages (200 g/m² and 350 g/m²), the paper can be supplied in sheet format; all other grammages are available both as sheets and on rolls.
Certificates for a wide range of applications
IQ GRASS + PACKAGING is FSC™ and PEFC certified, chlorine and heavy metal free. This grass paper, like all Mondi brands from the paper mills in Austria and Slovakia, is Cradle to Cradle Certified® at the Bronze level. It also complies with ISO 14001 and 9001 standards and is optionally available in a CO2-neutral version.
