International Data Spaces Association expands global reach with new hub in Japan

The International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) has officially inaugurated a new IDSA Hub in Japan, marking a significant milestone in the realm of data spaces outside Europe.

The University of Tokyo and the Data Society Alliance jointly facilitate the Japanese IDSA Hub, with the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) taking place at the Data Spaces Discovery Day in Tokyo.

Driven by a mutual goal to unlock the potential of data spaces across domains and borders, the Data Spaces Discovery Day set the stage for transformative discussions that reached 350 visitors at the Nihonbashi Hall in Tokyo and online.

The event demonstrated a strong enthusiasm among participants for collaboration and the exploration of innovative opportunities. It focused on the concept and business value of data sovereignty, as well as the development of solutions to connect existing data spaces.

The establishment of the IDSA Hub in Japan is a milestone towards fostering international collaboration and emphasizes the significance of standards and interoperable data spaces on a global scale.
