EOS, Technology and Quality Leader in Additive Manufacturing, continues on its Course of Success and Growth

formnext 2015: Shaping the future of additive manufacturing - EOS introduces steadily growing portfolio of proven and new solutions in Frankfurt

EOS, the global technology and quality leader for high-end additive manufacturing (AM)solutions, will present its extensive and steadily growing portfolio of additive manufacturing and software solutions for the polymer and metal segment, along with many different service and consulting products, at the inaugural formnext trade fair in Frankfurt (17 - 20 November 2015). Under the motto 'Shaping the future of manufacturing', the company is attending this year's trade fair with a stand in Hall 3.1 (Stand F70).

At the trade fair stand: proven and new solutions

At formnext, EOS will present its existing portfolio: high-quality systems, qualified materials, proven processes, extensive services; but also modular consulting services that support customers at each phase of the value-added process and contribute to a successful expansion of business; and finally, monitoring and software solutions for the optimum monitoring of the production process to achieve top component qualities.

At the same time, the company is also introducing a new metal system, a new monitoring solution and a new material. With the EOS M 100, EOS presents a compact system that provides an easy and cost-effective entry into Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS); the system corresponds to the market-leading metal system EOS M 290 in terms of process and component quality. With EOSTATE MeltPool Monitoring, EOS introduces a concept for the automated real-time monitoring of the DMLS build process - per melting point, per layer and per component. It contributes to minimising risks and helps to reduce the total costs for quality assurance. In addition, EOS is also introducing a new metal material to the market - EOS StainlessSteel CX.

EOS StainlessSteel CX: Corrosion-resistant stainless steel for tooling

EOS StainlessSteel CX is an extremely corrosion-resistant stainless steel with maximum stability and excellent hardness. This material is ideally suited for the manufacture of injection moulding tools that are used to make medical products or products made of corrosive plastics. Following the DMLS build process, the components made with this material can be easily machined and polished. The stainless steel is resistant to most corrosive plastics and diluted acids, making it the first choice for many demanding industrial applications. Due to its corrosion resistance, EOS StainlessSteel CX also reduces tool wear and maintenance costs.

26 years of EOS: steady global growth and technology leadership

Dr. Adrian Keppler, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at EOS: "Our company has been pursuing an unparalleled course of growth and success for many years. By October, there were approximately 2,000 EOS systems installed around the world. We were able to double our installed base over the last three years; during the last two years, the number of metal laser sintering systems was doubled from 400 to 800 systems. During the past business year alone, the company sold 400 systems, including 220 metal systems. This underlines EOS' leadership role particularly in the metal segment, and the growing interest in this technology particularly in the series production segment." And he adds: "We expect that market demand will continue to rise in the future - not least because leading companies worldwide trust in our technology."

During the last business year, EOS was able to increase its sales revenues by 53 percent over the previous year, to EUR 263 million. All regions exceeded its targets - especially North America delivered a record result with more than USD 100 million in sales revenues. Today, EOS has 750 employees worldwide, which represents an increase of 38 percent in its global workforce compared to the previous year. During that time, key positions were filled around the globe to provide even better support for customers on their way to additive series manufacturing. This enormous growth is reflected in the fact that individual locations are also experiencing steady growth. At its Krailling headquarters, EOS recently started the construction of another building, since the technology and customer centre, which started up just last year, is already reaching the limits of its capacities.
