The Dallas Morning News Partners with KTCK-AM "The Ticket" for First-of-Its-Kind SportsDay TALK Mobile Application

With more than 450,000 online viewers, 200,000 subscribers and a national reach of reporting news, The Dallas Morning News is revolutionizing content generation through an inventive application and a partnership with one of the most recognized sports radio stations in the country – KTCK-AM 1310 "The Ticket." The result of this partnership is the SportsDay TALK app, which is now available on Android and iOS.

"We have been waiting for this day since we began development in December 2012," said Peter Welpton, senior product manager for the Morning News. "This partnership between our SportsDay DFW team and the guys at The Ticket is going to be incredible, just like this app, which has more features, bells and whistles than any newspaper or radio app ever before."

Among the unique features for the SportsDay TALK app are the following:

The news feed content comes directly from SportsDayDFW

Full social media integration involving Morning News writers, editors and columnists, as well as Ticket personalities and on-air producers

Complete interaction through chats, comments and voting polls

Comprehensive team overviews, stats and schedules including Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks and regional universities – mainly from the Big 12 but not exclusive to the conference

A live, buffered stream from KTCK-AM that allows the user to pause, rewind or fast forward any data through the app up to 20 minutes

Searchable archive of Ticket broadcasts

Scoreboards and social media timelines updated in real time

"The Ticket has worked closely with The Dallas Morning News, specifically SportsDay for the last few years, but this app takes that relationship to a whole new level," said Jeff Catlin, program director for KTCK-AM. "No radio station has partnered with its local newspaper like this before, and I'm thrilled that this is another first for us."

SportsDay TALK is rated 9+ and is compatible with Apple iPhone 3GS and above, iPod touch 3rd generation and above, and iPad. Although it is optimized for iOS 5, but requires iOS 3 or later. Use the search terms "SportsDay" and "Talk" in both iTunes app store and Google Play.
