Expanded global marketing team includes product management, marketing communications, market and business analysis, market management, and training development.
Nordson ASYMTEK, a Nordson company (NASDAQ: NDSN), a leader in dispensing, jetting, and coating equipment and technologies, announces the appointment of Mr. Chris Marion as director of Marketing and Applications Technology.
He will manage all global marketing activities, including a newly expanded marketing group consisting of product management, marketing communications, market and business analysis, market management, and training development in addition to the applications technology group.
"A key part of Nordson ASYMTEK's success is our ability to investigate and solve technical challenges that our customers face," stated Peter Bierhuis, president, Nordson ASYMTEK. "Chris possesses the broad experience needed to lead Marketing, which will play an important role in defining and directing these investigations."
Marion will be in charge of all global marketing activities as well as applications technology, which provides pre-sales support, partners with Marketing to specify and validate new products, and develops new applications. The scope of the global marketing team also includes commercial management of customized engineered solutions, which will link applications' expertise to expansion into new markets.
Marion has worked in the Nordson organization for nearly 20 years, starting as a technical support engineer for Nordson ASYMTEK, moving to manufacturing engineer, and then engineering manager. He spent 5 years as factory manager at Nordson MARCH, later returning to ASYMTEK as business unit director and most recently as director of global manufacturing, where he oversaw exceptional growth in ASYMTEK's manufacturing production rates. He has a B.S. in Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, and an M.B.A. from California State University, San Marcos, California.
"I am honored to have been chosen to lead this highly skilled team and to help define the future for Nordson ASYMTEK," stated Marion. "By restructuring marketing to encompass a broader spectrum of functions, we expect to have best-in-class responsiveness to the needs of our customers and our global sales organizations. The linkage between the applications engineering group and customized engineered solutions is very important in early recognition of new market expectations. I am excited to be working in this new capacity and looking forward to the future."
