Kongsberg PCS spotlights ease of automation at CorrExpo 2023

Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (Kongsberg PCS) will use this year’s CorrExpo event to showcase how the power, performance and versatility of its digital finishing solutions combine with innovative software and robotics to deliver complete automation for corrugated packaging converters.

From August 28-30, the world’s first diversified provider of digital finishing and CNC cutting systems will be at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio, for one of North America’s premier packaging exhibitions. Matt Thackray, VP & General Manager of Kongsberg PCS operations in America, said visitors to the event would discover how they can bring their corrugated designs to life with Kongsberg technology.
“The goal for our customers is productivity while optimizing quality – more, better, faster,” said Matt. “The advancement of automation throughout the manufacturing process continues to optimize throughput and quality of finished products. Hardware and software solutions have continued to evolve, not only simplifying and improving the quality of the finished products, but also improving overall productivity and throughput by automating the material handling process that marries with our solutions.
“We’re looking forward to discussing the needs of visitors and exploring innovative ways to add value to their own cutting/routing processes, that will in turn add significant value to their businesses,” he said.
One such example is the latest developments in the Kongsberg iPC (i-cut Production Console) software, which has been specifically developed to make it even easier for users to harness the power of their digital cutting solutions and get the most out of their investment. Packed with new features and upgrades, the integrated iPC version 2.6 software suite comes as standard with Kongsberg cutting tables. “It is the only production software that users need,” added Matt.
“We’ll also showcase how combining cutting solutions with workflow software and robotic material handling can deliver huge efficiency and productivity gains, as well as opening up new avenues of product development for them,” he added. “The team will lead visitors through the extensive range of tooling and material handling options, together with recent customer stories to demonstrate the benefits of a fully integrated, automated system for corrugated converters.”
