Komori Corporation (Sumida-ku, Tokyo, President Satoshi Mochida) is pleased to announce that Komori has won the Gold Prize and the Sankei Shimbun Award in the 1st category of the 74th National Calendar Exhibition sponsored by the Japan Federation of Printing Industries.
Calendars are said to be "a means of communication that conveys a company's cultural message" and "a printing medium that enriches the living space." The National Calendar Exhibition is a concours honoring works that excel in calendar printing technology, planning and design, or functionality and practicality. Komori's 2023 calendar commemorating the 100th anniversary of the company's founding was selected for the Sankei Shimbun Award (Special Award) in addition to the Gold Prize in the first category (B-to-B corporate calendar category).
As a printing press manufacturer, Komori focuses on producing original calendars in order to promote the brand value of paper media. This year, we have selected vivid flower patterns that make you feel the joy of the 100th anniversary from among the works of three artists, including two overseas artists whose works have previously been used in the Komori calendar, and expressed this joy using the latest printing press and printing technology. The work was co-planned with the creator, Toppan Printing Co., Ltd., and we believe it was recognized for its pursuit of "advanced printing techniques and brilliance and fineness suitable for Komori's 100th anniversary."
