Richard Perner (51) took over the sales management of Bobst Meerbusch GmbH from Dick van Bruggen as of September 1, 2019. Van Bruggen joined BOBST in August 1991. He has been Managing Director Benelux of the company since 1993. From 2010 to 2014, van Bruggen was also Managing Director of Bobst Meerbusch. On his own initiative, he has concentrated on managing the company's sales department since 2015. Also at his own request, he has been fully dedicated to the management of BOBST in the Benelux countries since September 2019.
Perner has worked for Bobst Meerbusch in the sales organisation since 1993. After initially serving customers in the German folding carton industry, he has been supporting BOBST's German customers in the corrugated board industry with his extensive practical experience since 2015. Perner studied mechanical engineering at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Mannheim. After completing his studies, he worked as a project engineer at Mannesmann Anlagenbau AG in Düsseldorf before moving to BOBST.
Perner: "The increasing digitalization and networking of the industrial world will also fundamentally change processes in the folding carton and corrugated board industries in the coming years. I see one of my central tasks as supporting our customers in both areas in transforming their companies into the 4.0 age of industry and accompanying them in their markets on a long-term basis. In addition to future-oriented machine technology, the new Connected Services from BOBST also play a central role here. The close partnerships of many customers with our company, which have often lasted for decades, form a solid basis for a common and successful future".
From Bobst Meerbusch Managing Director Dirk Corsten's point of view, it was possible to ideally fill the top sales position from our own ranks: "Richard Perner is very familiar both with our solutions and service offerings and with our internal processes. At the same time, he is very familiar with the challenges facing manufacturers of folding cartons and corrugated board packaging in an increasingly competitive environment. Our customers value him for his commitment and his holistic approach, which he uses proactively to meet their needs."
By allowing Dick van Bruggen to concentrate fully on BOBST's Berchem branch and its customers, the company is also improving its customer proximity in the Benelux markets with very high packaging quality requirements. The personnel change stands for a strengthening of BOBST's sales in Germany as well as in the Benelux countries.
