How MyBOBST makes your BOBST machines the best they can be

BOBST is well known for being one of the world’s leading suppliers of substrate processing, printing and converting equipment and services for the label, flexible packaging, folding carton and corrugated industries. But we don’t just supply. We partner. We solve.

And with the introduction of MyBOBST* – our own secure, dedicated customer web portal – we have taken that to the next level. MyBOBST is for everything you need for your BOBST machines and equipment. Whether you want to oversee real-time machine data, get remote support, access training or simply order some parts online, it’s all there. We spoke to some of the early adopters of MyBOBST to see how it helps in the day-to-day running of their companies and their experience of it so far.

Easy to implement, easy to use
Michał Oszywa is a Category Manager in the Procurement Department at the Polish branch of DS Smith – the well-known international packaging business – and is responsible for purchasing in the Maintenance, Repair and Operations area. He had an initial conversation about MyBOBST in 2018 with one of the Spare Parts Managers at BOBST, and he immediately realized its potential.

“I was pretty convinced it would be very useful,” said Mr Oszywa. “At first, I was a bit worried that the implementation process would take some time, but fortunately MyBOBST is so intuitive to use that people at DS Smith had no problems getting used to it. It was also invaluable to have the support of Bobst Polska for training our employees.”

Mr Oszywa and his colleagues have seen many benefits, including a reduction in spending on spare parts and supplies, and a reduction in time spent on organizing replacements due to rapid access to the digital spare parts catalogue.

“In addition, the interface is very tailored to the user, which makes it more intuitive and more useful,” said Mr Oszywa. “You can very quickly see the specific price in your local currency, which saves a lot of time, as does having swift access to all your order history in one place. Finally, you have BOBST contacts at your fingertips in case of questions.”

We gain a lot of time
Francisco De Gregorio Gañán, Maintenance Manager at Cartonajes Izquierdo – a family business in Spain manufacturing cardboard boxes using flexographic printing – uses the MyBOBST portal for the purchase of spare parts, and agrees that the user-friendliness is a major selling point.

“One of the great things with the interface is that we can check the spare parts of each of our machines online,” he said. “You can see all the current prices and in most cases, you can see the real photo of the spare part, avoiding any confusion or wasted time.”

Similarly, Thomas Sulmont, Production and Process Manager at TPG Packaging – a family company in France, specializing in UV Offset printing and cold foiling – has been impressed with the simplicity of MyBOBST.

“We have many processes following printing: Hot foiling, laminating, embossing, die cutting, windows patching and folding / gluing,” said Mr Sulmont. “There’s a lot of different parts in the process and previously, it could be quite complex to stay on top of our maintenance needs. Now with MyBOBST, it is extremely easy to get the right price for the right spare part, and place an order very quickly. We gain a lot of time.”

Indispensable assistance
One of the benefits of an online interface is that BOBST can constantly update and improve it even further. BOBST will continue to add catalogues and optimize functionality based on user feedback.

In the meantime, those signed up to MyBOBST continue to benefit from technical documentation and drawings, online spare parts ordering, real-time machine data, training, order up-grades and technical assistance, making it an indispensable part of their work.

As Mr Oszywa put it, “Since we started using MyBOBST almost one year ago, I can say that the advantages are so satisfying that it would be hard to work without it.”
