No-Label-Look? No problem!

New standard adhesive materials in the Clear-on-Clear segment
- Two transparent OPP films provide maximum clarity for virtually invisible labels
- The newly developed adhesive 62C is absolutely transparent and has excellent processing and adhesion properties.
- "The two new adhesive materials expand our standard range for a market segment in which our customers can exploit additional potential.

The label as such, which is not perceived at all, suggests to the consumer an outstanding product quality for exclusive Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). And in order to enable brand owners to make this subtle promise, label manufacturers must use the most advanced clear-on-clear label materials available. HERMA already has a special reputation for the PP films used in this process. One of the objectives for the new coating plant on the massively expanded company headquarters in Filderstadt was to inspire users with even better, new solutions.
New qualities - best properties
HERMA is now adding two qualities with exquisite looks and excellent processing properties to its standard range of PP self-adhesive materials. This is ensured by the 62C pressure-sensitive adhesive, which has been specially developed for maximum transparency and also offers excellent resistance to the otherwise widespread white tarnishing of the label edges on prolonged contact with water. Accordingly, the new adhesive materials are two no-label look standards with the best properties. They are also quickly available in smaller order quantities. HERMA PP transparent tc (grade 885) is equipped with a carrier material (HERMA PET 565) with a thickness of 30µm; and HERMA PP 50 transparent super tc (grade 886 with HERMA PET 560) with a carrier material of 23µm thickness. They cover the majority of processing requirements and offer high-speed dispensing options as well as special punching reliability. In the inkjet production itself, very good print quality can be achieved in all common printing processes.
Special adhesive - exclusive possibilities
In addition to the attractive appearance of the product, the virtually invisible adhesive also provides a clear, unclouded view of the contents in transparent packaging. At the same time, it is insensitive to moisture, soap or oil and is therefore particularly suitable for product labels in the food, beverage and cosmetics industries. In addition, the 62C is resistant to light, heat and ageing. In labelling, it is characterised by its advantageous flow properties combined with reliable adhesion. "Its overall outstanding processing properties also result from high cohesion with a low tendency to creep," explains HER-MA Sales Manager Ralf Drache. "The strong internal cohesion of the adhesive layer effectively prevents the annoying leakage of adhesive. This ensures reliable conversion - without compromising on initial and final adhesion". Regarding market potential, Drache says: "With the two new products, we are expanding our standard range for a market segment in which our customers can exploit additional potential, but for which they need a particularly safe and reliable adhesive material. With innovative solutions from our new plant we offer the best possibilities for this".
