Vista Solar, a Santa Clara-based solar installer and SunPower Commercial Dealer, today announced it has received the SunPower "Commercial Regional Top Producer of the Year" award for its outstanding sales performance as a SunPower dealer in 2013.

The "Commercial Regional Top Producer of the Year" award honors the SunPower commercial dealer that has the highest shipment volume in their region of the United States. The SunPower dealer network includes more than 1,800 dealers worldwide, with approximately 400 located in the U.S.

In 2013, Vista Solar installed the largest privately owned commercial solar power system in Fremont, Calif. The 920-kilowatt rooftop installation features the Sun Power E Series solar panels with an efficiency of 20 percent. Using such high-efficiency panels allowed the building owner to maximize underutilized roof space by installing solar, and see electricity savings of nearly $250,000 in the first year. The system is expected to generate savings of more than $7,000,000 over its 25-year lifetime.
