The product range in advertising technology is becoming ever wider. Producing this variety of advertising material efficiently and economically is a challenge. Economic production is no longer possible without automated data preparation.
At Fespa 2021 in Amsterdam, Zünd will present its latest software solutions for the automated creation of production data and for monitoring and analysis.
There are various ways to optimise the workflow and trim it for efficiency. However, a central component is always the automation of sub-processes. Work steps become standardised, repeatable and traceable. On the way to efficient production, the choice of the right software tools and hardware solutions is crucial.
Whether the job comes in directly via a web shop solution or via an ERP system; the path of a job file to pre-press and via the press room and digital cutting to shipping logistics is long. At Fespa (Hall 1, Stand G20), Zünd will be showing the software solutions that can automate this path and make it more efficient. For example, by linking order data with the actual printing and cutting data. In the Zünd workflow, the metadata from the ERP system is linked with the production data from the PrimeCenter and the Zünd Cut Center - ZCC. This allows continuous job tracking, the cutting job remains in view at all times and preparation for dispatch is simplified. The metadata contains information such as a job number, an ID or a delivery date. This metadata can be attached to the printouts as tear-off tabs, for example. Alternatively, metadata can be printed on a label with a label printer and attached to the finished cut parts. A projector above the cutter shows which label belongs on which cut piece. The result is a significant time saving when removing parts and the user always keeps an overview, which is especially important with multi-part orders. The labels also simplify logistics. For example, after cutting, the finished banners are labelled with the corresponding order information, scanned and are directly ready for dispatch.
A premiere is the presentation of Zünd Connect. The web-based monitoring tool records key figures such as performance, availability or overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of the integrated cutters. With Zünd Connect, the user detects possible losses of effectiveness in his workflow and thus receives important indicators that help him to further optimise his cutting. For live demonstrations of these software solutions, trade fair visitors can contact the stand personnel directly.
