Canon Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan (Chairman and CEO: Fujio Mitarai) and Océ Holding B.V., headquartered in Venlo (NL, President and CEO: Minoru Asada) have announced the official change of name of Canon Group company Océ to Canon Production Printing.
Following Canon's acquisition of Océ in 2010, the company continued to develop and manufacture printing systems under the established Océ brand name. Along with the renaming from Océ to Canon Production Printing, the products will also carry the well-known Canon logo in the future. This will create brand unity in all areas and ensure the positioning of the company with a clear brand policy. The change of the company name will take effect on 1 January 2020.
Since its foundation in 1877, Océ has introduced a number of unique copying and printing technologies. After the renaming, Océ will continue to develop its core technologies and further increase its market share as Canon Production Printing.
Océ develops and produces high-tech print products and workflow software for the commercial printing market. Océ's product portfolio includes continuous and cut sheet printers for high-volume printing and publishing, as well as large format printers for display graphics, computer aided engineering (CAE) and geographic information systems (GIS) applications.
In Germany, the change concerns the Poing site near Munich. Today's Océ Printing Systems GmbH + Co.KG with research + development and production of digital large format printing systems for advertising printing and digital web printing systems for the transaction area and the graphics industry will also finally raise the Canon flag over the site on January 1, 2020.
