Mediclinic Middle East and Oneview Healthcare are delighted to announce a contract for the deployment of Oneview's Patient Engagement and Clinical Workflow Solution at Mediclinic City Hospital and Mediclinic Welcare Hospital in Dubai. The partnership was signed today in the presence of Irish Minister for Business and Employment, Ged Nash TD and HE Ambassador Patrick Hennessy.
The contract, which marks Oneview Healthcare's first commercial deployment in the Middle East, follows an agreement in principle signed by both parties during an Irish Government Trade Mission to United Arab Emirates in January 2014. Implementation of the Oneview Solution across 390 devices at 334 beds in the two Dubai hospitals is expected to be completed by March this year.
Douglas Collins, CEO of MENA for Oneview Healthcare commented: "We are absolutely delighted to partner with an organisation of Mediclinic's stature and reputation and to have this opportunity to play a leading role in the patient engagement revolution currently taking place in the Middle East".
Mr. Collins added that the Oneview Solution will allow patients to pre-register, book appointments, receive medically approved educational material specific to their condition and access approved clinical test results released from the hospital. This level of accessibility and connectivity to a person's own health data is a cutting-edge approach that fosters patient empowerment. The technology seamlessly integrates a hospital's IT systems onto one high performance healthcare technology platform and provides point-of-care access to those systems across all end user devices. Oneview's feature packs and add-on solutions offer regional healthcare providers the flexibility to enhance patient experience, empower the care team and deliver cost savings.
The deployment at the two Mediclinic hospitals follows Oneview Healthcare's successful implementation of its Patient Engagement Solution at three new, state-of-the-art hospitals for the University of California San Francisco (UCSF at Mission Bay) which will go live on February 1st, 2015. Oneview Healthcare also has three deployments in progress in Melbourne, Sydney and Cairns in Australia.
Dr. Tarek Fathey, Chief Operating Officer of Mediclinic Middle East said: "We have been enormously impressed with the depth and breadth of the Oneview Solution and believe its implementation will prove to be an important point of differentiation for our patient experience in the highly competitive Dubai market".
Founder and President of Oneview Healthcare, Mark McCloskey, commented on the growing importance of patient engagement: "As a global company, working with healthcare facilities on four continents, we see firsthand how improving the patient experience has become one of the most important issues in modern healthcare. Evidence shows that patients who are better informed and actively engaged in their care plan can expect better outcomes. In addition, healthcare costs can be up to 21% lower for the most engaged patients".
Irish Minister for Business and Employment, Ged Nash TD added: "Ireland is well established as a global centre of excellence in the area of medical technology. Oneview is a great example of an innovative, export-focussed Irish company with a world-class product offering. Their success in securing this contract is evidence of the unique value of the technology solutions that Irish companies like Oneview have to offer. I wish them every success as they continue to grow their business in the Middle East."
Established in Dublin in 2007, Oneview Healthcare has worked closely with Enterprise Ireland and its Gulf Market Advisor Eamon Al Sikafi to expand its influence across the Middle East.
