EFI Partners with Bürkle for Commercialisation of EFI Cubik Inkjet Decoration Solutions

Bürkle exhibit at LIGNA features EFI Cubik S700 mineral ink and new Cubik S1800 UV LED single-pass printers for wood decoration

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (Nasdaq:EFII) is partnering with a global pressing and surface finishing technology leader, Freudenstadt, Germany-based Robert Bürkle GmbH, to commercialise the EFITM ecosystem of decoration solutions in the wood industry, including single-pass EFI Cubik inkjet printers, Genuine EFI Inks, and EFI Fiery® design, processing and colour management systems.

EFI is part of the Bürkle exhibit, located in hall 17, booth F19, at the 27-31 May LIGNA exhibition in Hannover, Germany. The Bürkle stand features the single-pass EFI Cubik S1800 UV LED inkjet printer in its worldwide debut, along with the single-pass EFI Cubik S700 mineral ink inkjet printer. Designed to run 24/7 in industrial production environments, both of these groundbreaking solutions offer premium-quality, short-run throughput, as well as high-speed, mass production of decorative wood surfaces for indoor and outdoor applications.

Based on EFI's renowned single-pass printing technology, the EFI Cubik line offers the wood industry top-quality decoration, high-end performance and ink savings through a unique EFI ecosystem approach where the printer, inks and EFI Fiery proServer digital front end (DFE) and colour management systems all work together as a fully integrated solution, delivering high value to building materials manufacturers.

The EFI Cubik S700 uses mineral inks in several available colours. Mineral inks provide higher image quality without affecting the natural properties of the substrate as the inks penetrate the substrates, resulting in better integration with the wood. The new EFI Cubik S1800 launching at LIGNA is based on UV LED inks and prints with CMYK-OV colours offering businesses a wider gamut, high printing quality and fast printing speeds for slab/laminate formats. With virtually no VOCs, lower temperatures and lower energy use, EFI LED technology is a greener printing solution, allowing businesses to deliver more applications and lower-cost material options to customers.
