Top quality right through to the finished product

Four years after starting with RollSertDrum and StreamStitch technology, Botnia Print replaces a three-knife trimmer by an SNT-50. With two inserting lines featuring RollStream and MultiDisc periphery, one StreamStitch and four MultiStack units, it was in possession of exceptional technology for the production of printed media in the newspaper and semi-commercial segment.

Nevertheless, due to technical and conceptual compromises, utilization of the overall system was still restricted. According to Managing Director Hannu Salmi, top quality is a key customer demand, especially in the commercial segment. This demand can only be met with the right technology in postpress processing. The replacement of the three-knife trimmer had a positive side effect: valuable floor space had been gained. Botnia Print decided to put the free space to productive use and upgrade the system with a StreamFold quarterfold line. The concept combines different processes into a complete system, which on the one hand offers a high level of flexibility and on the other hand is unsurpassed when it comes to product diversity and speed. Botnia Print will produce circulations between 1000 and several million copies on the extended Ferag line from August 2014.
