Diecutting 4.0: analogue becomes digital

New system solution from Marbach: CONNECT|M.
At the end of November, the globally operating die manufacturer Marbach launched its new system solution for digital diecutting. Under the name CONNECT|M, Marbach manages the transformation of a previously largely analogue process into a digital one. This offers the user completely new possibilities.

Project manager Dominic Fischer: "CONNECT|M is a system solution for packaging manufacturers that digitally connects their die-cutting machines, die-cutting tools and users. This cloud-based connection happens quite independently of which manufacturer the machines and tools used come from. On our new user platform, interested parties will find important information on the topic of digitalisation in die-cutting, but also many valuable tools with which they can optimise their performance in the die-cutting process. With the CONNECT|M system solution, we provide users with performance tracking and efficient tool management at its best: recognising trends and potentials, determining benchmarking figures, fast data access and perfect organisation of tool provision are just a few of the functions that become possible with CONNECT|M. But what exactly is CONNECT|M?
CONNECT|M is a groundbreaking new system solution for packaging manufacturers. It consists of web-based software combined with various hardware components, cameras, sensors and QR codes in packaging production. The result of CONNECT|M is the cloud-based, digital connection of die-cutting tool, die-cutting machine and user. This connection enables performance tracking and efficient tool management in packaging production.
Tool Management
The CONNECT|M module "Tool Management" includes all functions that deal with tool management. After all, tool provision must function perfectly for efficient packaging production: The tool must be quickly located, maintenance must be guaranteed and reordering should be possible quickly and efficiently. Fischer: "Tool management is about maximum clarity for the user's tools: CAD data, storage location and maintenance management - the user has all this data at a glance, including the ordering history of the tools, the recording of Zurichtedata and the storage of documentation data. Another highlight of this module: Enquiries and orders can be triggered quickly and easily in a semi-automated way. There are different packages for this module (Basic, Pro and Expert), which interested parties can book quickly and easily via our new user platform connect.marbach.com."
Performance Tracking
The CONNECT|M module "Performance Tracking" is about the recording and evaluation of key performance indicators in packaging production. Because the CONNECT|M system solution connects the tool with the die-cutting machine and the user, performance figures of the tools used can be determined quickly and easily. All important key figures are clearly displayed in a performance dashboard and can be called up at the touch of a button. Fischer: "The CONNECT|M module Performance Tracking makes it possible to compare different tools with each other as well as to compare one and the same tool on different machines. In addition, the user receives an automated message in case of changes in the tool performance. The objective performance comparison of several production sites is also child's play with CONNECT|M. The result of the performance tracking is therefore impressive: On the basis of collected key figures, CONNECT|M users can benchmark, recognise trends, uncover potentials and thus increase the performance in the production of their packaging step by step. And this in each of your locations."
